Hi! Curious much? (it’s okay - humans are curious beings!)
What I’m up to now: I’m a current first year emergency medicine resident at The George Washington University in Washington, DC!
What I studied: I graduated cum laude from the University of Connecticut (Class of 2019) with a BS in Physiology & Neurobiology, a BA in Psychology, and a Minor Human Rights. I graduated from two tracks in 1) Population, Urban, and Rural Health and 2) Global Health at UMass Chan Medical School in 2024.
Interests: Photography, Running, Public Health, Activism, Refugee Advocacy, Social Psychology, Human Rights
Experiences: During my Fulbright Research Grant to Jordan in Public Health, I studied the intersection of identity, displacement, and resource access on pediatric refugee mental health. In Beirut, I have collaborated on research projects on the topic of media trust during the COVID-19 pandemic, and PTSD following the Beirut port explosions. In Worcester Massachusetts, I have run the youth/mentor program for our Burmese, Afghan, and Haitian resettled folk with the Worcester Refugee Assistance Project (WRAP) - I now serve on the Board as Communications Director. I currently serve as the Co-Director for the Physicians for Human Rights Student Advisory Board, overseeing student run asylum clinics and the student wing of the organization.
At UConn, I was heavily involved in the leadership of many different organizations ranging from the Yearbook and the Club Track & Field Team, to the Undergraduate Student Government and President's Council on Race and Diversity.
A self described scientist, photographer, activist, and runner (to help procrastinate): I have co-authored journal research, had my photography selected for publication and awards, worked to support refugees domestically and internationally, and (obviously) spent too many hours procrastinating by running or reading the news.
Aside from being a beautiful human being and being involved in literally everything also look at that face like how could you not love such a handsome sparkling fabulous dashing gorgeous skinny man.
